April Field Trip

There will be a field trip on Thursday, April 24.  We will be visiting two points of interest in Findlay, OH.  Here is the itinerary for the field trip.

PLACE:           Hancock Historical Museum

                        422 W. Sandusky Avenue

                        Findlay, OH

COST:             There is no charge for the historical museum.

TIME:              9:30 a.m.—if anyone is interested in carpooling/caravanning, we can meet

at Wal Mart in Upper Sandusky at 8:40 a.m.

The primary purpose of the Hancock Historical Museum is to collect, care for, exhibit, and interpret items that will serve to illustrate the history of Hancock County from “log cabin days” through the present with emphasis on the gas boom period of the late 19th century.   We will be participating in the ‘log cabin program’.  In this program, we will get some hands on educational experience. The museum’s web address is www.hancockhistoricalmuseum.org. Please RSVP to Lynette by Monday, April 11, if you plan to attend.

PLACE:           Mazza Museum

                        1000 N. Main Street

                        Findlay, OH

COST:             $3/person

TIME:              2:00 p.m.

The Mazza Museum: International Art from Picture Books is the world's first and largest teaching museum devoted to literacy and the art of children's picture books. Founded in 1982, the Mazza Museum now contains more than 3,000 original artworks. The Mazza Museum’s web address is www. mazzamuseum.org. We will be taking part in an art activity at the Mazza Museum.  The Mazza Museum must be prepaid.  If you are planning on attending, I would need to receive your money by April 11 so I can send a check to the museum.  They would also like to have everyone in our group wear a nametag.  If you have any questions, contact Lynette Duvall.

HTH Annual Meeting

The annual meeting allows HTH members to fellowship with other members and provides an opportunity to bring forth some new ideas for our group.  There will be a suggestion box and paper/pencil provided for these ideas.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Rollerama.  Please bring a covered dish and/or a dessert, and also a drink of some kind to share.  Place settings and ice will be provided.  There is no admission charge, but there is skate rental of $1.50/quad or $3.00/inline. If you have your own skates, there is no charge.  If you have any further questions, contact Lynette Duvall.
